If you are struggling with maintaining organization in your DVD collection then there is a good chance that you would be assisted if you got some specialist DVD storage furniture.  Probably the most common form of DVD storage would be a simple wooden cabinet with a glass door.  But to be honest these sort of storage units look a bit dull.  There are in fact quite a number of alternatives to the unit, the DVD tower being one particular favorite.

A DVD tower can sit on the floor, or on top of another cabinet, perhaps right next to the DVD player.  As an aside they should always be positioned close to the DVD player as if they are too far away you will find that you do not use their practicalities to the fullest, instead you will use some form of interim storage, like popping an empty case on a shelf or worse on the floor which defeats the object of having the DVD tower in the first place.

The DVD tower is a good practical way of storing DVDs and you should give them some serious thought if you are looking for practical DVD storage.
